Lover Eternal Review

In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there’s a deadly war raging between vampires and their slayers. And there exists a secret band of brothers like no other – six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Possessed by a deadly beast, Rhage is the most dangerous of the Black Dagger Brotherhood…

Within the brotherhood, Rhage is the vampire with the strongest appetites. He’s the best fighter, the quickest to act on his impulses, and the most voracious lover—for inside him burns a ferocious curse cast by the Scribe Virgin. Possessed by this dark side, Rhage fears the times when his inner dragon is unleashed, making him a danger to everyone around him.

Mary Luce, a survivor of many hardships, is unwittingly thrown into the vampire world and reliant on Rhage’s protection. With a life-threatening curse of her own, Mary is not looking for love. Her faith in miracles was lost years ago. But when Rhage’s intense animal attraction turns into something more emotional, he knows that he must make Mary his alone. And while their enemies close in, Mary fights desperately to gain life eternal with the one she loves…

Oh where to start!!!!  Rhage, a beautiful, powerful warrior, empty inside except for the beast that controls him.  Mary, fragile in body, a warrior in mind and spirit!  Can she calm his beast?  Can he sacrifice anything to heal her body?

J.R. Ward has done another amazing job bringing the Brotherhood to life.  She takes us on a rollercoaster ride of emotions throughout Lover Eternal and at times I had to take a break just to give my heart sometime to recuperate.  I went from feeling a little uneasy about this Rhage to feeling an overwhelming sense of happiness that all was well within Rhage and Mary’s word to wanting to beat the hell out of the Scribe Virgin.

I literally had a hard time putting this book down.  When my Nook Color ran out of juice I switched over to the Nook app on my iPhone.  I read during class (only sometimes lol), in the bathroom, on the shuttle, and anywhere else I could.  Lover Eternal kept me on the edge of my seat, got me hot between the thighs, and made my heart pound in anticipation.  I totally connected with Rhage and Mary and sat in the corner and cheered for them, was even ready to fight the Scribe Virgin for them (lol).  Not to mention, we got to see more of Zsadist in Lover Eternal….yes I’m obsessed with the “bad boy.”

I give Lover Eternal 5 out of 5 stars and HIGHLY recommend this read!  You won’t be disappointed.

Now on to read about my beloved Zsadist in Lover Awakened!

As Always ~ Happy Reading!

  1. So glad you are reading these books! Anytime you want to discuss, let me know! I once called into work to finish one of these books the day after it came out! And as far as Mary & Rhage are concerned, their first date is still one of my fave scenes in all the books. I like a big boy with a big appetite! 🙂
